In the Morning

Sometimes the day fades, and so does your confidence. You’ve been facing trials left and right, and nothing seems to change.

I have had a few challenging weeks lately. Bad news, my nephew being sick, stress at work, and now I have a cold. Life seems to kick you when you’re down.

But there is always the morning. Every day I open my eyes, I realize that God still has a plan for me. He has given me another day to make a difference. He is making a beautiful tapestry out of the story of my life. Every day and every person matters.

Psalm 143:8:

Every sunrise is a reminder that God loves us, and that His mercies are new. He hasn’t forgotten about you, dear heart. I want you to know that the One true God that you entrust your life with, loves you unfailingly and unconditionally.

When we diligently seek Him and prayer and read His word, He opens the way before us. Psalm 119:105 says,”Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” He will show us the way we should go, as we wait in trust and hope.

He may not reveal as much of the path as we wish He would. But He gives us one step at a time-and gives us the courage to keep going even when met with changes and obstacles. Without the strength of the Lord, I would have given up so many times. You know what’s amazing? He believes in me; that with the Holy Spirit I am going to accomplish much for the His glory. All my sins and mishaps are forgiven, and will not keep Him from working through me to reach others for His kingdom.

I hope tomorrow morning brings new hope and joy for you! Remember His unfailing love for you, and praise Him.

Love in Christ,

Ariel

Who Are You?

"Just be yourself. Let people see the real, imperfect, flawed, quirky, weird, beautiful, magical person that you are."

Who are you, deep down?

Are you the person you had always hoped you’d be?

Why or why not?

I have always been one to support authenticity. You, being you. I don’t get hung up on what other people think of me.

But that wasn’t always the case.

I’m a recovering people pleaser. I still love to bring a smile to a person’s face, and do all I can to make their day brighter. But my goal in life isn’t to win the affection or attention of others.

My goal is to please and bring glory to God, every day. I used to think this was really hard to do. After all, how do you please the One who is holy and fully righteous?

You please Him by using the gifts and abilities He has given you to show His love to people. You please Him when you go out of your way to help someone. Spend time with Him in prayer and quietness. Realize that he delights in you!

“The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
Do you believe that God loves to rejoice over you? That you are His beloved child?
The opinions of others will never change the fact that God. Loves. You. You don’t have to live your life trying to gain approval from the world. If you are seeking the Lord and His will in your life, I can assure you that you will see His love and peace fill your heart and soul.
Are you ready for that?
In Christ,
Ariel

Say Goodbye to Ordinary!

Ordinary.

This word is usually associated with being boring, normal, average, or just okay.

Maybe you view your life as ordinary. Maybe the monotony of your day to day life has worn you down, and caused you to see the glass as half empty.

But life is so much more than meets the eye! The possibilities are endless. God is infinitely creative, and loves to work in the lives of those who have faith in Him.

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
We don’t have to be the way we were before Christ came in and turned our world upside down. Actually, there’s no way we could ever be the same! He has called us out of darkness, and into His marvelous light.
The light reveals the good, bad, and the ugly. That must be why some of us run from it. But God can make beautiful things out of the ashes of broken dreams and stained lives.
Dig into His word. Pray. Find out all you can about the One you follow. As you pursue God with your whole heart, you are on the grandest adventure imaginable!
I’ll be honest with you. It won’t be predictable, easy, or always fun. But you know what it will be? It will be beautiful, peaceful, joyful, and full of the love that only God can give. This is how I live my life, and I couldn’t imagine it any other way.
I love this song by Gungor:
So what do you say? Want to exchange the ordinary for the extraordinary adventure God has called you to?

In Christ, Ariel

The Liebster Award

Samantha, over at http://hisendlesslove.com, nominated me for the Liebster award! It’s purpose is to recognize new bloggers, reach more people, and essentially making a blogger very happy. 🙂

The Rules:

  • Link back to the blogger that nominated you
  • Answers the 11 new questions
  • Nominate other bloggers (however many or few as you’d like)
  • Create 11 (or however many you’d like) new questions
  • Notify the new nominees of their award.
  1. When did you start blogging and why? I started blogging back in 2012, a blog I still update on occasion: http://princecharming101.blogspot.com is all about relationships. My brother inspired me to write a blog teaching young men how to treat women with respect, and win our hearts! I started A Future Hope last year, when I was fresh out of college, and needing to have a purpose that served God and encouraged other people.
  2. What is your favorite movie? Easter Parade, with Judy Garland and Fred Astaire. They sing, they dance, and the story line is great! Makes me happy every time I watch it.
  3. When was your last, best vacation? A few years ago my family went on a cruise, which was such a blessing. It was really neat to be on a huge ship, and fun to explore a couple islands. My favorite part was swimming with dolphins!
  4. Fun fact that nobody knows about you? I can touch my tongue on my nose, 😛 a totally useless talent, but fun nonetheless!
  5. What is your favorite, non-religious book? I’m a reader, so it’s hard to narrow it down. But my favorite has to be These Happy Golden Years, by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Such a beautiful love story, from the woman who wrote Little House on the Prairie.
  6. What is your favorite religious book? Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young. She never fails to encourage me, and I think God uses her writing to bring my focus back to Him.
  7. Describe your perfect weekend. Ooohhh! A beautiful sunny day in Colorado. Family and friends (or the future love of my life) would pick me up in the morning, and we would head to the mountains for a hike! I’d pack a picnic lunch, with goodies I baked myself. We would hike to the top of the mountain while soaking in God’s grand creation. We’d have our picnic, and laugh a lot :). It would be a time of peace and refreshment, and everyone would leave with a spring in their step.
  8. If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Why? Laura Ingalls Wilder. She lived on the prairie, and had such an amazing life. She is the author of my favorite book series, Little House on the Prairie.
  9. Describe yourself in three words. Christian, Sassy, Adventurous
  10. What single quality do you appreciate in other people? Reliable/Trustworthy… I think they are connected.
  11. What is your favorite post you’ve ever written (link please): It’s called “Broken Girl in a Broken World”, and shows how I dealt with disappointment and God forcing me to slow down. It’s more raw and personal than some of my other posts. https://afuturehope.wordpress.com/2015/01/30/broken-girl-in-a-broken-world/

I would like to nominate Liz over at Lark and Bloom, and April over at Peaceful Single Girl for the Liebster awards! They have inspired and encouraged me through their writing.

Here are the 11 questions:

2015: Year of Confidence

I think confidence is contagious.

Think about it; whenever you are around a person that exudes confidence (not arrogance), you gain some of their strength. When they leave, you wonder what they have that you don’t. What makes them so free, so sure of who they are?

They know everything happens for a reason. They aren’t always striving for control, because they realize they have none. It can be scary to look out into the future, and not know what’s around the bend. But I serve God and believe He has great plans for my life, and I trust Him to work through all the trials to bring about something beautiful and more creative than I could’ve done on my own.

When I start to see all the obstacles and problems piling up around me, I get overwhelmed. How can I handle all these things? Why do I need to face this? It’s then that I stop myself. It’s not about the how and why. It’s about WHO. Who is with me? Who gives grace abundantly? Who has never left my side?

The same God that tells me I belong to Him. That His perfect love casts out my fear. The God that showed me exactly who I was, at a critical time in my life.

He continues to show me who I am; the Christian woman He has designed me to be. I just shake my head in disbelief at how far I still need to go. But then I smile when I look back, and see how far God has already brought me! It makes me excited for 2015-because God is going to do great things!

Be bold in prayer. Ask God to instill deep confidence and joy in you. Listen to His guidance and follow, because He knows the way. Keep your eyes open. Then be amazed at the work He does in and through you! I will be praying that God makes 2015 your year of growing in confidence, and embracing the person He designed you to be.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

“5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
6    in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
